It's gonna be May
SEVEN down! Five to go!
It is a truth universally acknowledged that May is a crazy busy month. For the Finns, we add in two birthdays back to back, Newsies performances for Georgia and Eleanor, and college finals/grading/graduation in addition to our homeschool end of the year things. It’s been a busy couple of weeks, and we are all looking forward to breathing a sigh of relief in the next few days.
Good news, though— I completed my seventh chemo treatment on Monday. My white blood cell and neutrophil counts continue to be within a normal range, thanks to the booster I receive. My side effects are manageable, though, fatigue is a constant, and nausea, gas pains and cold sensitivity are common during the treatment week.
Praises:
My white blood cell and neutrophil counts are within normal range, which allowed me to receive chemotherapy treatment.
NGU finals ended today, and Georgia moved back home. We are glad to have our college girl back home! She will be working at our local Chick Fil A and volunteering at our church. She is available for babysitting if anyone local needs one;-)
This is our last week of our homeschool co-op, and as much as we love our co-op this semester has been a struggle to manage with my chemotherapy treatments. The Finnlings are ready for a summer break, as am I.
Seven treatments are complete! For me, this truly feels like I am on the ‘downward’ side of the treatment schedule. Five more to go, and while at times that still feels like a lot to conquer, it is also manageable.
Prayer Requests:
Continued ‘normal’ WBC and neutrophil numbers throughout the rest of my treatment
Minimal side effects from the ‘booster shots’ (normal side effects are bone pain/achiness)
Georgia has surgery to remove her wisdom teeth on Monday, May 11. Please pray for her surgery to be uneventful and her recovery to be smooth.
We have not had a chance to look for a new vehicle for Georgia, but hope to do that in the next week or two. Pray that the Lord will provide a reliable vehicle within our price range.
Our summer will look different due to my chemotherapy treatments. Pray for us to still enjoy the summer, find ways to relax and enjoy being together.
As always, thank you for your prayers and support! They mean the world to us. We are so appreciative of your love and prayers! If you would like to help, my GoFundMe and MealTrain are still active. We are so thankful we don’t walk this journey alone.

Being on the "downhill" is reason to rejoice! Praying for perseverance and rest!
Wow, more “down” than you have left! That is awesome. Sounds like a very busy May, but June is around the corner and the end of treatments is fast approaching. So happy for you. 🥰
I feel so far behind you as tomorrow is only my third injection. I got delayed a week, so still lots to go. But, the next PET Scan is scheduled for June 6th. Sure hoping nothing will show up. My Liver function seemed to improve a bit with the delay, so waiting for June. Hope to have the 4th injection before that. I think my immune system must be a slow learner! 😁
Take care and keep that beautiful smile! 😁 Much love to you all! ❣️
